Chilean Empanadas - Empanadas de Pino

Taking advantage of the long, long weekend I whipped up some Empanadas, the national dish of Chile. Using a combination of childhood recollections, a few phone calls to Mum and some know how it came together much easier than I expected, this being my first attempt.

If you want to try them yourself try this site http://southamericanfood.about.com/od/snacksstreetfood/r/empanadaschile.htm

The filling "pino" is a seasoned mixture of ground beef, onions, raisins, black olives, and hard boiled eggs. Empanadas are best enjoyed with a glass of Vino Tinto

Buen apetito
